I’m blogging about it because it told me to.

…no matter how badly I want it to.
I got the blues.
Like, an old-school arcade. It’s called “Chinatown Fair”

They have Para Para Paradise. I am so there.
Special thanks go out to Kevin Cancienne for cluing me in, and to New York City Geekdom for the additional info.
So, that’s over. Good four years, though. Went in fancying myself a writer; came out fancying myself a game designer. In between, lots of missteps, parties, classes. Beautiful scenery. Bard really was a place to think. I did a lot of thinking there.

Next step? Summer in New York City. Try and find clever ways to publish non-digital games. Design more. Write more. Learn to cook.
There are not enough hours in a day. More on this later.
Popcap’s Peggle is so awesome. It’s like pachinko meets candy meets crack meets that-episode-of-Evangelion-where-Kaoru-almost-ends-the-world.
For all of its awesomeness, however, Peggle would be even more awesome if there was a version for Mac OS X.
First Bookworm Adventures and now this? C’mon, Popcap. I’m dying, here.
You’d think that Mensa, being an organization comprised solely of intelligent people, would have at least one able web designer in their group. Oh well.
Maybe it’s because my own life doesn’t involve exciting activities like fishing, home furnishing, and paying off mortgages. Maybe it’s the silly idea that, somehow, I can make a living wage by shaking trees. Or maybe it’s the column deadline I’m up against, an upcoming trip to Israel, the failure of my computer’s hard drive, and a handful of other things that I’m distracting myself from.
Yeah, that Animal Crossing: Wild World is pretty addictive.
Love because the bunnies had me at hello. Hate because of pretty much everything else. Rayman Raving Rabbids was a great concept that deserved more development time than it got.
ATTN: Ubisoft Montpellier – Please fix the broken minigames; make more multiplayer-centric experiences; clean up the interface; design longer shooter levels; rely less on the nunchuk; improve on the “dancing bunnies” concept. In short, make the whole game as insane as those videos I fell in love with, and less like a franchise title rushed to launch (and it wouldn’t hurt to get rid of Rayman, either).
